How we use cookies and similar technologies
Last updated: July 2026
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar browser storage (such as session storage) for short-lived preferences. This policy describes what runs on the public heritageai.uk marketing site. The separate members intake service uses its own authentication cookies, described below.
Strictly necessary storage
The marketing site does not set marketing or advertising cookies. We use session storage (not cookies) to remember that you have dismissed on-page prompts during your current browser session. This is strictly necessary for the site to function as designed and does not track you across visits.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)
If you accept analytics cookies via the consent banner, we use Google Analytics 4 implemented directly via gtag.js (measurement ID G-ZF5BJM54L3). This is not deployed through Google Tag Manager. GA4 collects aggregated usage data such as pages visited, approximate geographic location (country or region), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site (for example from a search engine or link). We use this to understand site performance and improve content. Analytics cookies are blocked by default and only activated after you choose Accept. If you choose Reject, GA4 does not store analytics cookies on your device.
Third-party content (Google Fonts)
We load typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When your browser requests these files, Google may receive technical data such as your IP address. Google Fonts are used to display the site correctly and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Members area cookies
The HeritageAI members intake service (a separate application) uses strictly necessary authentication cookies provided by Supabase to keep you signed in securely. These cannot be switched off while using the members service. They are not set by the public marketing pages on heritageai.uk.
Data retention and third parties
Google acts as a data processor for analytics data collected on our behalf. Google’s retention of analytics data is governed by our Google Analytics account settings and Google’s own policies. We do not sell visitor data and do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking on this site.
Managing your choices
You can accept or reject analytics cookies using the consent banner shown on your first visit. Your choice is stored in your browser so the banner does not reappear on every visit. To change your mind, clear site data for heritageai.uk in your browser settings (which will reset the banner) or delete the heritageai_cookie_consent entry from local storage. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using Google’s browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Blocking authentication cookies will prevent the members area from working.
